H E C T I C!

Tomorrow January 23rd will be my last day for lecture as next week is our mid-semester break. I feel so happy because I get to see my beloved family and my girl back! And this will be my last time to travel by bus to KL. I decided to travel by train after the fare rose.

Actually, I feel more comfortable to travel by train as it is CHEAPER by 50% than the bus! That is my only point huhu. I happened to ride a bus because the train's ticket had sold out! Dulu, bas habis dulu, sekarang, terbalik.

Well, it is cheaper, of course.. What do you think?

Okay, during the break, the lecturers have set their own way for me to enjoy my break. Ouch.. Assignments.. Online Quizzes.. Lab reports.. Progress report.. and lastly, from Che’ Bad, business plan of the ikan pelik...I mean, belut. The break will not be a break for me. . . . . .

Time for electronics projects!

For your information, I am a final year student of Electrical Electronics Diploma program.

hat means, i have a looooott of work and task to be done. One of them is, electrical/electronics final year project (FYP). The project group consists of two, and my lab partner is a girl. My partner, whose name is Raihan and me, went to buy the project component this morning alongside Faid and Sanusi. We depart at 10.30 and arrives 30 minutes later (waiting for Sanusi took 10 minutes!).

Upon arriving, the list of the components needed was given to the shop assistant. But, the fact that most of us didn’t know is, the price of each component is not that expensive. But the things that raise the price are the ICs (Integrated circuits). Our project uses two ICs. One is a common 8 pin monolithic 555 timer (this one is cheaper, around 90 cents) and the other one is, 18 pins PIC 16F84 (programmable IC). This one is quite expensive, RM 15.00, unprogrammed.

We have to reprogramme it using Microprocessor devices that we have learn earlier. This may be tiresome as I am not programming type.. Raihan, will you do this for me? Huhu..

Wait, if you think that the 18 pinners is expensive, wait till you hear this. Our LCD display, is the most expensive of them all. RM 45.00. Damn. That is 62% of the overall price of RM 73.00! No wonder if your laptop’s LCD monitor broke down, you have to pay around RM 1700 to get it fixed. But actually, the price is not that high, depends on who do you seek help to fix it. (komisen maa!)

Plus, we did a simple circuit, and I personally think that our project is way way simpler than some of our friend with bigger brain. Their project may cost up to RM1500 per unit.

I am going pass that.....No money!

Limau + Pokok Limau?
Limau + Pokok Limau?

This project burns a hole to my pocket! Well, at least the tauke gave us 4 limau mandarin as the Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Thank you very much!

Eel? eew!

Eel
Ikan pelik - bak kata nics

Yesterday 15th January 2009 was the last day for our group to submit our paperwork on business venture. As long as I can remember, we have been discussing on the type of business venture that we want to enroll in for almost two weeks. In our minds, we have several titles that we think it will be a great success.

Unfortunately, our lecturer a.k.a Mr Baderisang (or Che’ Bad, as we call him), rejects ALL of our idea. To sum up, almost ten type of business we have proposed. We felt very demoralized as they were our brainstorming products for two weeks! And he rejects them all…. Then, as time flies by and he needs to go for his class, he gave us the hint of which project that should we try. He told us several stories based on his eating behavior and experiences. Then, he proposed us to one project that I can’t believe it.

‘Eels Farm’. . . .

We found that to do this title, may encumber us. We really don’t want to do that actually.. One of our group member, Khidir said that, we have to find another topic, if not, “kita terpaksa la belajar mencintai belut..

Aduh.. As a team leader, I decided to discuss with them, and we agreed to do this topic. At last, after some thinking, belut pun belut lah. Ikhlas, the one who has the biggest brain among us, thought there must be a reason why Che ‘ Bad rejects all that and give us his idea instead. Yes! We may get an extra mark for obeying him, who knows?

Kesian dia.

8. Aku menolak lalu terus menunggu train kerana masa sudah hampir 10.30.

9. Namun, masanya ditangguh lagi ke 11.45. Sedih sungguh aku. Ujian tahun baru.

10. Jam 12 malam, train pun bertolak. Dapatlah aku melihat bunga api tahun baru 2009 di beberapa laluan train.

  2. Bawak beg plastik. Cara ni banyak masjid dah suruh praktikkan. Masukkan dalam plastik, bawak masuk sekali masa solat. Takkan hilang kecuali kita lupa ambil balik.

Cubalah tips ni, aku ada banyak lagi tips, tapi hanya ni yang aku ingat. Ada lagi, aku kongsi lagi, okay?

"Price is what you pay, value is what you get from it"

* Berkenaan selipar tadi, aku dah pulangkan semula pada 4 January 2009. Aku tak curi tau.
